I'm not sure if that is good for a starter. It takes more time before the "architectural" stuff makes sense to them.

Learning these higher-level design things is valuable, but I think that sounds pretty vague for beginners.

Also, as that old joke goes: "The great design comes from experience, while the experience is from breaking things".
